Somebody in Discussions was looking for a tune called Stenson's recently. There are two reels on Kevin Burke's album, 'If The Cap Fits', which he calls John Stenson's (John Stenson is the accordion player from whom Kevin Burke learnt the tunes). This is the first of the two. It won't be exactly the same as Kevin Burke's setting, as it came out of my head, but it should be an acceptable variant in sessions.
As I've just discovered, Jeremy has installed a self-locking mechanism to prevent over-enthusiastic tunaholics from posting more than one tune a day (You can't stop us from eating tuna, though, Jeremy.), so I'll post the second one tomorrow.

This is very close to the Annamaculeen Reel, which was posted here in G/Em over a year ago. The B Part in particular is essentially the same.

John Stenson
Kevin Burke has relatives in Sligo by the name of Stenson. If I remember rightly they had a farm up near one of the lakes. Could this John Stenson be one of them ?

I've checked the sleeve notes to the album since posting the tune, and KB says that John Stenson is a box player from Sligo, so he could well be one of those same Stensons.

This has to be a variation of "The Otter's Holt".
