The Caribou

This is a Canadian tune I think. It sounds nice played a slow pace or a fast pace. It can be very energetic. I think it is Edor since it has a couple of C#s in there. If this is posted elsewhere, my apologies. I tried looking for it in search and advanced search and couldn't fine any like it. I hope you enjoy!

Andy DeJarlis

I think he wrote this...Metis fiddler from Manitoba.

Slightly Different Transcription

Nice tune and new to me. Thanks for sharing it.

I listened to "himself playing it" with the help of of the tempo slowdown effect in Audacity and hear something closer to the transcription below:

He swings the piece a lot so don't take all those eighth notes too seriously.

My fiddle teacher has me playing this tune in a set after Cooley's Reel.

The version I'm playing is more like the posted sheet music than whatever Andy himself is playing on Youtube.

Going by the other recordings I've heard of Andy, I wouldn't want to try to play transcriptions of his recordings, because he's changed them and made them his own - I'm not nearly as good a player as he was, it wouldn't be a productive exercise for me to imitate what he's doing. He brings amazing energy to these recordings.
