A beautiful Norwegian Waltz

I learned this tune from the Askerladden recording "Full Oppladding", it's the second track. Immediately fell in love with it. The recording is all on Spotify, I encourage you to listen to it.

I have now bought the album, but I bought it as a download off Amazon, so don't have any sleeve notes. This means that I have no idea where the tune is from and who wrote it, but it's lovely whoever did.

What the F*** is a Norwegian waltz doing in a site for Irish music, I know there ar many other 'foreign' tunes, but I have complained before.

It's a fabtastic tune and it would fit into a traditional repertoire....

Well I'll take the bait and say that Norweigian music is better than Irish Music...

Seriously though, thesession has become much more than a depositary for Irish Music. There isn't another user-edited ABC site around as far as I know, so if someone does transcribe an interesting tune that isn't on abc finder, fiddler's companion etc. and wants to share it with the world then this is the only place to put it.

I'm with ceili here.

Anyone who knows Irish music understands that it evolved and developoed in pure and complete isolation and was never influenced by European (much less Scandinavian) music.. to say nothing of African or Indian. We should make efforts to maintian this purity and keep on guard against all invasive non-Irish elements.

I like to whip my students when I hear them humming popular songs of the 21st centuary too.. just in case..

"I'm with ceili here."

Who, somewhat ironically, is Danish.
