Hidden Treasures!
I know that I once stated on the mustard board that the "Yellow Phone Book" O'neill's (1,850) was useless. I take it back! I decided cto do some more extensive digging thru the "Songs & Slow Airs" section of the book, just to see if ant of those melodies could be re-worked as dance tunes. The answer is a resounding "YES"! I found this tune (#516 in the book) & found it screaming to be played as a barndance. After a bit of "filling out" the tune to include the necessary rhythmic elements,( and to tranpose it into a friendlier key; the original was in G minor & went all the way up to a high "d" on the e string!) this is what I came up with. If you have a copy of said collection & haven't looked through this section, give it a go! You never know what you might find if you're willing to put in a little work...as always, enjoy!
