Discussion: Just another title search

This started life as a discussion, which I'll now be asking Jeremy to axe... I'm still hoping someone might be able to give a name to this orphan hornpipe. Here's the opening intro to that discussion:

This is from the playing of Seamus Egan, via his tenor banjo, a rough transcription from a highly compressed MP3 of a cassette recording from way back when.

T: ???
S: Seamus Egan on tenor banjo
M: 4/4
L: 1/8
R: hornpipe
K: GMaj

And for those who work better without > or (3 ~

Yes, I've wracked my brains, what little is functioning at the moment, and I did the search engines, including Rev's, tried it in more than one key ~ and I asked at least half a dozen others. But, so far, none of us has yet come up with a name or any other information on this hornpipe. Bits of it sound familiar, but after a time, a long time, what doesn't, eh? Here's hoping you can help this orphan hornpipe to find its heritage, or at the least a name...

For those that don't give a damn, I'm actually asking for someone else, and neither of us will lose any blood or shed any sweat if we don't find a name, but we'd be happy if we were able to make that extra connection. Thanks ahead of time for any constructive contributions towards that end...

Just saw my slip on the ending to the B-part above, merely missing a '>', so here's that again and a couple of other possibilities ~

Hey sp, nice catch, as far as the similarities between the A-parts of the reel and this hornpipe.
