Delightful "Madness" from Begley & O'Raghallaigh
This one comes from the Brendan Begley / Caoimhin O'Raghallaigh CD "A Moment of Madness". The tune itself is a composition of Brendan's. The amazing thing about the tune (to my ears, anyway) is that it's repetetive without being dull, somehow. Or maybe it's just the way that Brendan & Caoimhin play together that makes it work. Just about everything Mr. O'Raghallaigh plays seems to have magic in it; I just don't know how else to describe how mesmerizing his music is! And when combined with the "force of nature" that is Brendan Begley, the resulting music will move you, guaranteed. It makes me want to dance around the room, and that's saying something!

Such a great tune!
That's a great video. I found the video before I found the CD. Is that a Hohner Corso in CC# he's playing? I would like to spend a week with this CD on the ASD, study it note for note. What is the English translation of the tune's name?

Em right?
I just looked at the music and, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't the key signature have just one sharp for Em? There are no c#'s in the tune, but they wouldn't fit any way. Love Em.

Tonn Cliodhna
Haven't spotted any c's in the tune at all, so it really depends on how you hear it

Check those lovely sleeve notes to FYH bootleg that preceded the CD here:

There's also a translation of Brendan's notes for the new CD at one of CaoimhĂn's sites, you may as well look for it - lovely lyrical introduction. For those who knows Gaeilge it's no problem to read the original text on the CD cover, of course!
