Not strictly "Irish", but played by a number of "Irish" musicians...
This is an Asturian processional (funeral) march that I learnt from Igor Medio of Felpeyu in 2000 when Felpeyu were touring Australia. Judy Turner of the Melbourne Scottish Fiddle Club helped iron a couple of kinks in my version the next year.
I first heard it at the Illawarra Festival. The powered gone off, the room was in darkness and Xuan (the piper) started playing, joined by two fiddles in unison, then harmony followed by bouzouki (Igor) and guitar (Carlos). A magical experience.
I play it with Westwood (see recordings list) and dedicate it to Igor and Carlos who are no longer with us.
bdh asked me to put it up on thesession
Enjoy.
