I thought the A Part had a nice drive to it and that it would a good piece to start off a set with. After I heard the whole piece I changed my mind. So far - the whole piece is a prize. Thanks.

Flavour of the month
What a great tune! I had never heard it before and now I finally have something to go with Dowd's Favourite. Thanks for posting it.

a friend of mine turned me onto this forum, its quite nice. Thanks to SPeak for posting my tune. If anyone is interested, I have a bunch of tunes written, all in MIDI and sheet music format. Email me at brendan@fiddleguru.net if you'd like some.
If you're interested, I wrote the tune while at the Augusta Heritage Festival in WV, a few years ago. Jerry Holland was one of the fiddle teachers, and Mick Moloney was referring to him all week as "the flavor of the month" in Ireland, due the fact that a lot of people seemed to be playing his tunes. I liked the phrase, and used it as a title. The tune pretty much wrote itself, off of a makeshift riff a guitar friend was trying to play on the banjo. Later, I actually wrote a spinoff of the tune, using some influences from Jerry's playing, and called it "The Road Less Traveled."
Anyway, hope thats interesting. Please enjoy the tune. Cheers, Brendan
