This is a version I heard from the playing of De Danann, from live recordings I have. I don't think they ever recorded it on LP or CD etc., They always paired it with Hardiman the Fiddler.

This is an excellent tune for the pipes and sounds especially good on the flat pipes.

It's on one of the "Irish Folk Tour" double LPs which included "De Danann", and is paired, as you say, with "Hardiman". The Ulster singer Len Graham also has a fine song to this tune, called "The Wheels Of The World" - nothing to do with the reel of that name.

The Night Before Larry was Stretched
Traditionally this was composed by "Hurlfoot Bill". And it's "The night BEFORE Larry was stretched. You can find the words in the Penguin Book of Irish Poetry.
