Miller's Maid

I was surprised to find this had not been previously submitted. I searched by title and by ABC fragment but didn't find anything. It is a wonderful tune I learned years ago from my grandfather.

Half

The first part is very similar to the tune usually now called "The Flags of Dublin" but also published as "The Miller's Maid." But the turn is totally different. There is another tune known as "The Miller's Maid" that seems totally unrelated.

The version posted is basically that appearing in the O'Neill collections. A slightly older (by 20 years) version appears in Ryan's Mammoth Collection. A more modern (but still reognizable) version appears in Brendan Breathnach's 'Ceol Rince an hÉirann, volume 3' with the title in Irish.
