Yellow Barber

I thought this popular American Old Time tune should be on the Session database. There are many variations in the way it is played. The version I have submitted is a hybrid. The 'A' music is a transcription from the playing of Kate Lissauer. The 'B' section is as played by Jere Canote and Bo Bradham because I like the way it sounds with a liberal application of Georgia bowing.
I hope people will add their versions.

Yellow Barber

I had heard this before, the midi just wasn't ringing the bells til I listened to this recording:

http://www.aca-dla.org/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/Berea&CISOPTR=2077&REC=1

From the digital appalachia collection.
There is a lot of information about the tune here:
http://www.ibiblio.org/fiddlers/YEL_YM.htm

It seems it is not a common or popular tune at all in oldtime fiddle music, but was mainly known around the KY, WV, OH area.

It's not one that really tickles my fancy, but I admit that it is a nice tune.
