An Ed Reavy composition. I transcribed this based on the setting by Johnny B. Connolly on his Bridgetown CD. He plays the tune with Kevin Burke and Ged Foley, and sandwiches it between two other great "modern reels": Brendan McGlinchey's Splendid Isolation and Paddy O'Brien's Ormond Sound. For the "original" Reavy setting as transcribed by his son Joe, see The Collected Compositions of Ed Reavy tunebook. The O'Reilly's were apparently early lords of East Brefni, an area now centered in present-day Co Cavan, Reavy's birthplace.
