Paddy in London - D major jig

I believe this to be the correct name for this tune , the source being O'Neill"s. There are 2 other tunes which at times receive the same title, namely Vince Broderick's G jig "The Flail", and also the A minor jig 'The Mug of Brown Ale'. But I gather these are misnomers.

Can anyone confirm the correct name as the above ?

Probably a version of "The Four Courts": http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/6447

This always struck me as a bit similar to Maloney's wife http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1895

Sheet Music for Paddy in London (beginners version)

You have the wrong Paddy in London listed here, the one you have listed is for advanced players, then one Im looking for is the one with the crochet stop at the end of the second bar which you would hear beginners playing or is this normally known under another title.

Err - not a lot that can be said to that.

Is this the same tune as the one you are looking for? If not then there are often many tunes that will share a name and plenty of tunes that will have multiple names.

If it is the same tune then similarly there are many different versions of many tunes. It is an aural tradition after all.

If it is the same tune won't this version suffice? If you want a more simplified version then do you have a recording you could learn it from? Aural tradition and all...
