"Sleigh Ride" ~ for Bodhran Bliss, sleigh bells and coconuts in hand
This is a take on the Leroy Anderson number. I can't remember exactly what we did with this at Christmas time, but we'd arranged it and played it during Christmas ceilis and a few times had sleigh bells, or Morris bells jangling and a wood block going, and some of us gave a fair imitation of a horse's neigh. ( BB would probably want to say horse's arse
)
So, something for the season. It is a kick to play and to dance to, and in no way is it meant to be taken too seriously. As I said, I haven't our old arrangement on hand to transcribe from, so this is trying to keep it in a reasonable range so most intruments can handle it, and who can't manage an F natural on winds? ~ or eventually, with a little practice...

No, I couldn't get hold of Leroy Anderson to O.K. this, but let's hope there's no problem. The tune was composed in 1948 with words added by Mitchell Parish in 1950.
(I was only joking, don't hit me, I'm wearing glasses!)
