Da spirit o' whisky

Yet another reel taught to us at the Fiddle Frenzy this past summer in Shetland.

This version is Ceolachan's revision (thanks for the assist, friend) of my abc transcription of the dots that they gave us at the end of the week. The two sound the same to me, mine had crotchets where C's has the tied quavers, and I had it in E minor instead of C's E dorian, both of those being issues that I am not qualified to discuss, so there it is.

I like to follow it with "My wife's a drunkard", which I don't think has been posted here yet, maybe I will get to work on it one of these days. The transition is a bit shocking, I just like the semantic combination.

Oops

Should look before I leap. My wife's a drunkard is already here. And a great little tune it is too.

Sheet music

I'm still learning to correctly read abc format (I can't always get the rhythm right), so do you have the sheet music as well for this tune?

Hey reedy, if you've a different take on this tune why not add it in the comments for it?

ingridrt ~ hmmm? Have you been here long? Click on the 'sheetmusic' tab above... Sometimes Jeremy is there and it instantaneously transforms into dots, but usually we have to wait awhile... ;-)

I recognise this from the Frenzy. Not sure why it has to be in E dorian as opposed to E minor. I mean if you were being really tacky you might accompany the A part |Em|D|C|Bm Em| which suggests minor to me. But then you might go |Em|D|Em|D A| which would be dorian. But there isn't a C in the tune. So where did C find his C?
