Remember Me or Carrycoats Hall

This is the version of Whinham's most popular tune which is in Dixon's Book of the same name "Remember Me" it appears in The Charleton Memorial Book in a slightly different form where bar 3 is altered to suit the Northumbian Pipe Chanter. In other MS it is named Carrycoats Hall Hornpipe

3rd part?

Is the low D correct in bar 1 of the C part?
Good tune - play it myself.

GD's notes, in part: "Probably one of Whinham's most well-known compositions, this tune is still widely played, particularly by Northumbrian popers and the 'standard' version of it can be found in 'The Charlton Memorial Tune Book'. ~ "

~ d2 | Bd^cd =cdAd | ~ & ~ | dgdB GdBG | ~ see below

There's your answer Geoff, nope! We all slip up now and then, but it is as shown, not a low D... But, as well, there are only two parts to this tune, the A-part as given, and the following for the B-part, using Alex's notes, minus the repeats:

d2 |
Bd^cd =cdAd | BdGd FdGd | Bd^cd =cdAd | dgdB GdBG |
dgdB GdBG | FcAF GdBG | FAcA FDEF | G2 G2 G2 d2 |
Bd^cd =cdAd | (3Bdd (3Gdd (3Fdd (3Gdd | (3Bdd (3^cdd (3=cdd (3Add | Gd^cd edB=c |
dgdB GdBG | FcAF GdBG | FAcA FDEF | G2 B2 G2 ||

There are, to 'repeat' ;-) , only two parts to this hornpipe...

~ | B>cd>^c e>dB>=c | ~ bar 4, part-A & part-B

Sorry, the lead-in for the B-part should read ~

|: d2 |

Also, if not seen, another measure corrected was bar 4 of the B-part, as shown in the header ~

~ | B>cd>^c e>dB>=c | ~

This is one of those joyous bits I love, 'agreement', as you'll see that bar 4 for both the A and B parts are the same... Nicely done Robert... :-)

The variation of a triplet runs like that, as for measures 2 & 3 of this tune, aren't uncommon. Other box players have had them under finger, including Joe Derrane to name just one...
