Why isn't this tune already online? Anyway, one of her most beautiful ones, if not the best. I play it for a long time, and it's this kind of melody which really taught me violin, more than fiddle. There are some good places for rolls too, A,; B, and B. f too.

I find that in the first measure of the last line, I prefer a G to the second F. Like so:
BFBc dBGB
It's quite pleasing to the ear, because you weren't quite expecting it, and it adds a nice uplifting lilt to the tune.
Beautiful arpeggios. It's as good played as a slow reel with lots of expression as it is quickly.

Who's Merle? ~
~ ?
I have an aunt named Merle, great cook, but this wasn't for her.
Who's Merle? Does anyone know?

I rather suspect that the OP put Liz Carroll's name as composer on the original ABC - and of course this forum won't let you retain it. It'll be why there is a reference to "her" in the opening post.
Apparently, 'Merle' is the name given to one of Liz's friends with the actual name of Pam Kuras.

I assume it is the same Pam Kuras who plays with Raymond Gonzalez:

Thanks Weejie, hadn't known that Pam Kuras had such a nickname...
