The Koroit Heckler

I wrote this tune as a result of an incident at a music school in the small town of Koroit in Victoria Australia. The incident occurred in January 2007. John HUDSON a brilliant guitar player from Melbourne was playing a lovely Carolan tune on his guitar, an elderly man from Perth, Peter was present but obviously had some difficulty in hearing John's lovely playing. Peter started to call for music over John's playing. John soldiered on and commented to Tommy Carty at the end of his tune, "It's a rough crowd here tonight Tommy." The Koroit Heckler is in F# minor.

The Koroit Heckler

Just a minor quibble, but F# minor is in 3 sharps, not 4.

Lovely Tune

The mode is kind of undefined as there are no G and D - JACKN what's your hints for the backers?

It has the similar harmonies as the "Edinburgh Rock" by David Lim made popular by Mike McGoldrick:

The Koroit Heckler

The tune is in F# minor the same key as Edinburgh Rock, I find tunes in this key have a great driving rhythm, and I have written a couple of tunes in this key including a three part reel which I am recording. To back the tune I like a nice driving rhythmic guitar style. I play with Tommy Carty in Australia who was originally from Dublin, and is a fantastic player, great rhythm.

Koroit Heckler

I think too many people are seeing the four sharps and getting scared off. You can play this tune on a D Generation whistle without playing any half notes.
