Has anyone else the annoying consequence that the font has changed here on site? Something strange had happened to what's before me, weird... Maybe it is in preparation for the New Year?

Earlier (?) take of Francie
I take it these transcriptions were from the Ceol Na DTéad record of Francie And Mickey, which is one disc/tape I haven't managed to acquire. But I do have the Donegal Fiddle CD issued by RTÉ, which has Francie Dearg playing it in F - with a very different 2nd part, in ways the 2nd part transcribed here played in F instead of D (or C, as it would be played down a whole tone) and with an ultra-virtuostic leap up to e''' on the E string at the end. Perhaps they played the simpler setting in G/D when in duet, as it would be a bit of a trick to hit that e''' in unision. This tune was supposedly Francie's composition, too.
