TECHNICALLY I sort of learned this from Patrick Hutchinson, my pipe teacher, at a session that I recorded last Sunday.
Really nice tune. I tried all the variations I could think of to see if it was already in the database but I suppose not. Maybe somebody will burn me and hang me 'cause I didn't do enough to see if it really was on the session. Maybe not!
Anyone know the name to this one?
Cheers,
Armand

The tune comes from WIllie Clancy and a classic recording by Pat Mitchell. Better check their versions, they're better ones.

Mrs. Galvin
Technically it's Mrs. Galvin's version, as Willie got it from her.

No, Willie learned this from an old man, Mickey McCocoran was the name I think. Mrs Galvin played it in a lower key.

Mick O'Brien and Caoimhin recording
Mick O Brien and Caoimhin O Raghallaigh have a brilliant rendition of this tune on their album Kitty Lie Over. It's a slightly different version, and arguably more interesting to listen to!
