Jackie Coleman's #2

Longnote, I found this in JC's tune archive, this setting was taken from "First Collection of Traditional Irish Music" (M.Mulvihill) & it was transcribed by Bill Black who I know pretty well I can vouch for his competence. I found it to be a different tune than the Other Jackie Coleman's listed here - hopefully this is the tune you were looking for. I like it a little better than the other one, they're both great - but this is a new toy for me. Thanks for sparking my interest to look for it.
Please pardon me for posting two tunes in a row,
Brad

Jackie Coleman's #2

Mad, just listened to the Midi. I did not recognize the first part, so just as a test, I paused it and tried to hum what the second part might be. And I was right!! So this might be the tune, but, as you know, I have probably forgotten almost as many tunes as I play. However, until I get me hands on a copy of Tansey's LP on the Masters of Irish Music series and find out what #2 actually was, this tune will take it's place in that set. I suspect this may well be the same tune as Tansey's #2. Good man!

Jackie Coleman's

I've transcribed this for Will to make use of, since by coincidence we're working on the same tune at the moment.

Thanks Mark! I was picking this up from the whistle player in the pub last night (who learned it of the Egan cd) and knew parts of it were different from Brad's abcs. This helps it gel--though I'll probably do a few things differently on fiddle. I like that lip from B to c nat in the second half--much sweeter than just going |c2 ec Gcec|.

There are bits of both settings I like, so my version is a combination of SE's and the one that Brad posted:
