Benny McCarthy of Dánu, the first of a set of three polkas ~

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8oMEwG3DRE

For tommy_ie, who had started a discussion inquiring about these three polkas...

I'm familiar with all three, and have a niggle that this first one might be one of several Dingle Wren tunes I'd learned ages ago, but I have as yet not found a name for it. It can also be played in the keys of G & D and with the A part repeating. It may already be on site but I wasn't able to find it...

Here's #s 2 & 3. Benny McCarthy plays #2 in D and #3 in A...

Both great musicians ~ chase up a listen if you can... There are recordings listed on site for both Terrry 'Cuz' Teahan & Jimmy Doyle...

Thanks to Mark / Dow for making the connection. I knew there was a name for this but just couldn't shake it out. In searching for it I'd tried several different takes, bars and keys for it but without any success... I see that the order of the parts is different, which may have thrown me in my search for it...

I'll try to dig out an AABB version of it, or at least one other transcription or take on it for comparison...
