Slow Reel from Flook's newest CD
i just got flook's newest CD in the mail. it's as wonderful as one would expect. this simple and flowing tune, from the pen of aiden o'rourke, is played with a lovely slow lilt. it's played on a Bb flute with G fingers and so the tune comes out in Eb. i've notated in G for rest of us.
i can't wait to start picking apart some of the more complicated tunes on this CD.

if the tune is played in Eb, the guitar chords sound lovely when played in the key of D capoed up one fret. i'm not in love with the voicings of the G chords.

G Mix on the Lau record?
Just downloaded the ABC and it sounds it a bit off to my ears. I'm going from memory on what the version on the Lau album sounds like, but I think that is in G mixolydian.

I haven't heard any of the other versions of this tune, but I am practically in love with the setting Flook has given it. This is a very beautiful tune
