Colher's Reel
I think this is a fantastic tune. I've never heard anyone play it (apart from me, that is). It is from Kerr's Fourth Collection of Merry Melodies, described as an Irish reel. It has the feel of tunes like Repeal of the Union, Toss the Feathers et al. Despite its liberal sprinkling of C naturals as opposed to just one C sharp I do believe the key signature should be D Major, as the C nats sound more 'alien' than the sharps, if you get my drift. Does anyone know who Colher is/was?

It reminds me of the first part of Jenny's Welcome to Charlie: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/370

Reminds me of Paddy Taylor's but with the best bit missing: http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/578.

The last line is nearly the same as Bonny Anne:

I don't know about the other two but although JWtC is in O'Neill's remember Kerr's was published c1875, so perhaps Colher's is the older tune. I know that tunes will probably have been in circulation well before they were published, but it is suggestive nonetheless.
BTY I'm glad I don't know of any recordings of this tune because I don't know how to put them in the 'details' section. Can someone enlighten me please? Ta.

You don't. If there are recordings of tunes with the same title in the database, the site will list them automatically.
