This is an Iain McGinnes smallpipe tune - I'm pretty sure it's on his album entitled 'Tryst'.

Because someone asked me for it - - -

I found this in two keys. Apologies for taking so long to submit it. It's a nice little single reel. I'd been avoiding submitting reels, not just because all there are already here, but that probably had something to do with it. I'm still chasing up further information on this tune and would welcome any contributions in that direction. I found something saying it had come from something called the "d'Oyley Manuscript", but couldn't find anything on such a piece, though it rings of potential as a wind-up... Whatever, it is a sweet little tune, and I've given it here without a lot of 'bits', which I prefer to leave to you. It works simply and it also has spaces for some nice twiddling too...

I love single reels, and I usually test them for my 'fling' hypothesis :-0 - - - and this one makes a nice go of the 'skips' . I've been dancing to it today too, nice one, not the dancing, the tune...

'Eliza Ross's Reel' = 'The Uist Reel' - through the looking glass:

'Eliza Ross's' is the same as 'The Uist Reel' but with the A & B parts swopped around...

Author?

So reading the first comment, it would appear (to me) that this tune was written by Iain McInnes. Anyone know for sure? I'd love to record this great little gem, but I'd like to know if I need permission, and from whom. Thanks.

Mistakes

Should be in A mix.
"Eliza Ross's" is a reel from the so-called Lady d'Oyley manuscript, produced on the isle of Raasay in 1812." - from Iain McInnes' sleeve notes on "Tryst".
