Wrong key/part missing

"The Ross Battery" is a 4-part 6/8 march in the key of A.

Could u help me, please ?
I wrote it down as I knew that march

In D, not A.

Sorry, kirlino, my mistake. I think it's in D and not A, and yes, I will help. I'll send you an e-mail through the website in the next few days. What instrument do you play, and who did you learn the "Ross Battery" from?

Thank you Kenny
I play DADGAD guitar and I'm singer in a group called Liltin' Haddock.
I've heard "Ross Battery march" during a "Deaf shepherd" gig, played by Rory Campbell with a flute.
I'd like to find a good strahtspey and a good reel to build a medley.

The Ross Battery

Key - D [ 4 parts ], but please, a 6/8 march - not a jig!

Thank you very much Kenny.
I have updated the tune.
I knew that Ross Battery was a march, but when I try to submit it as a march there isn't the category: I can only choose between jig, reel, strathspey, waltz, barndance, hornpipe.
I've choosen jig 'cause it's a 6/8....

Thanks for posting this -

Great tune, both of you! This just swings along, I've tried it with a few Strathspeys but haven't found one which "really" fits the brite nature of this piece.

MSRs

The March in a March, Strathspey and Reel is always a 2/4 rather than 6/8, but there's no law against it! Incidentally, I think yet another composition of Donald McLeod, although 1 book does attribute it to Peter McLeod.

Let's try "Drumnagarry strathspey" !

The march

I've tried posting marches but because there are several different time signatures it's not listed as an option.

This march is one of many great tunes by P/M Donald MacLeod who has left an indelible mark on pipe music and on pipers of the last few generations and onwards.

Here's his setting minus the embellishments but with all of the dots and cuts to get that march swing. The pipe setting has very big embellishments between the 1/4 and 1/8 note groups of a2a and c2A. It could be effective to put rests there e.g. a.>za or c>zA. Other options are a>ga or c>BA which would fit in tonally with the pipe embellishments. Also there are connecting 1/8 notes at the start of each part changing the d3 to a d2. Again, rests could be employed effectively there too. Really any pointed bits can benefit from rests to eke more lift out of certain phrases.

Anyways, here's the ABC:
