All Hands Upon Deck
Northumbrian single reel. This appeared in Robert Topliff's book which was published around 1815. The abc for that version is below:

This was the version copied for use in the minstrelsy in the late 19th century.
This tune is played by bands in the northeast, including Noel Jackson's band Angels Of The North - am I right Noel?
According to the fiddler's companion, this reel goes by the name of "Jimmy At The Helm" in the Shetlands. Does anyone here know it by that name. It may turn out to be a Shetland tune.

All Hands on Deck
Here's a rarity - a Northumbrian reel. As its in Topliff,I suspect it started in the borders and gotexported toShetland rather than vice-versa.
The Angels play it with Morpeth Lasses and another tune which I am too far down the bottle to remember. We do these as a lively listening set as there aren't many NE dances which work well to reels.
