Source for the "League Reel"
Can be found in O'Neill's "Waifs and Strays" as No. 290. This transcription is closer to the way this tune is
played on Teada's album "Give Us A Penny and Let Us Be Gone" -- they play it really fast and it sounds great!

Caroline Kilbane ~
"I met Caroline Kilbane [ and I hope I’ve got her name right ] at a Willie Clancy week flute class I think in 1986. She’s a very fine flute player from somewhere in the south of England. I recorded her playing this tune at the final of an All-Britain fleadh in Glasgow some years back, and unfortunately didn’t get a chance to ask her about the tune afterwards. It’s one of those odd tunes which is a bit between a reel and a hornpipe. I’ve used a bit of imagination here, because I’m sure it’s a tune that on a fiddle or box would go below the range of D, all the way down to a low G. Definitely not a tune to play in a flute competition, for that reason, but it’s a tune I’ve always liked, and I thought it time to put out into wider circulation."

Miss Thornton's
"It sounds to me like a version of Miss Thornton's. It is quite different though."
