The Pandy Clock

The Pandy Clock is a clock in my hometown of Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. It was built by the Crawshay family who owned the ironworks in the town. It's a tower, but the clock only has three faces, facing towards Cyfarthfa castle, where the Crawshay's lived. The side facing the ironworker's cottages in the town is blank,so that the riff-raff couldn't see the time.

The Pandy Clock

Thanks for that info on the name of the tune, I'm half Welsh too so even more relevant. Nice tune.....

"The Pandy Clock" ~ fiddlin' with Dafydd's comp

I just happen to like it with a little more growl in it, so I've dropped it down, just a half step here mind you, but I did try it even lower. I settled on offering it in G as that is more accessible for a wider variety of inclinations instrumental wise...

Yeah, the first part of this tune is very similar to that of "The Pet in the Kitchen": http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/3611
