Up To Your Knees....
A curious title, but a fine reel. From Mary Bergin's 1st solo recording.

Up to your Knees in Sand
This reel is known as "Chuig na Glu'ine I nGaineamhThu' " in Irish . It could be a reference to the practice of shellfish gathering on the west coast of Ireland, in which one is frequently up to your knees in sand, water, shells, irate crabs, kelp etc.
Feadoga Stain Mary first ablum is a miracle of whistle playing; this set is no exception. Interestingly enough, I found this tune goes equally on pipes and wire harp.

Mrs. Crotty
This tune is a relative of the "Teetotaller" or "Temperance" reel as played by Mrs. Crotty, the late Kilrush concertina player.
