Breathnach collected this tune as The Glenside Cottage off Cork fiddler Jack Connell. It's in Vol. II of Ceol Rince na hEireann, as follies.

Lovely Molly (aka. The Glenside Cottage)

I know a slightly different version as "The Old Ruined Cottage in the Glen": http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display.php/557

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh & Mick O'Brien have a go at it...

..but it would seem that Caoimhín didn't know of the name(s) for this one, as it is listed ad "A Denis Murphy Reel".

Deadly Buzzed

Yeah, I guess I've been hammering y'all with posts from that CD. I'm A HUGE Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh fan, to be sure. He is (IMO) one of the most exciting young(ish) fiddlers to come along in some time. Where many younger players seem more concerned with technique, speed and endless jazz improv-y variations, his priorities are taste, rhythm and "the melody is king"! I would even go so far as to say you can "hear the turf in his playing". It has gravitas. It has the "nyah". But enough about all that- I've just a few more things to post from this CD, then I'll be done with it. Not that I'll be done listening to it, mind you...I can't get enough!
