Johnny Cronin's
Requested by Andee, who had the good manners to say "thanks" when I posted another of her requests. Johnny Cronin is/was ? a fiddler - I think the brother of Paddy. he made one recording I know of on "Shanachie" along with banjo-player Joe Burke. A fine collection of tunes as I recall.

Yaayy! Thanks again Kenny--I'm excited to learn this tune--and I obviously couldn't pick out on my own, so now I'll be able to do it much easier!!

Johnny Cronin was indeed Paddy's brother, he passed away a few years ago. His brother Paddy is still alive & kicking in Boston. Johnny was a complete wild man, very funny & a hell of a fiddler as well. He lived in New York City & was originally from Sliabh Luachra area if I remember correctly. Both brothers have a nice Sliabh hop mixed with a heavy dash of Coleman's music which was the order of the day.

Thanks , "Touchy" - extra information always appreciated. Shame he's not around any more.

Paddy's son, Vinnie, lives here in SF and plays flute. He's carrying on the complete wild man, very funny & a hell of a musician tradition as well.
