Mosignor's Blessing
This is definitely a fiddle tune, it's a funky little number that is associated with a "hand jive" where various movements of a Msgr are mimicked. This tune was popular with Johnny Cronnin (RIP) of NYC, he in turn taught it to Kathleen Collins. She lays on the lilt, and pairs it with the original setting (four part) of the "Limerick Lassies".

Monsignor's Blessing and tune families
This tune strongly echoes the melody of Mullingar Races, almost like a variation on the theme. Wonder which came first? Thanks, Brad.

Monsignor's Blessing -Whistle blowing version-
'This is definitely a fiddle tune' ..Yes, Mad Balooney, only if you play it in D!
Here's a version in G for you to learn before your pipe and flute playing friends feel too alienated to keep playing with you! ;- )
