Sommarvals

I was a little bit surprised to find a swedish tune, but it actually fits really well among Irish waltzes and planxty's. It's not an anonymous, traditional tune, but is - at least I believe so - written by Ale Möller, so let's give him credits for that.
(and the title means - as you could guess - Summer Waltz)

Sommervals

For some hints at how it might be played you can hear the album cut here, performed in D major:

Sinnesrubbad, the original poster at youtube, comments on this video:

"This song is from my father's group's new Album called Flyt and I thought I should share it with you.

Frifot is a swedish folk music group with three members named Ale Möller, Lena Willemark and Per Gudmundson. They tour around the world and has recently gotten back from their Japan tour."

And from Sweden, played in G on a one row box:

The first time I heard this tune, it was from the player who made the second clip (in G) and I wondered why he chose to inflect the 7th and 8th bars of the A part in such a way, it seemed somewhat unusual for a waltz. It seems that he was following the music in his head and remembering the vocal inflections, which are rhythmically similar

This is really a beautiful tune in whichever key you choose!
