I'm not TOO big on polkas, but I found this little morsel a while back and have been playing it ever since.

I'll buy boots for maggie

We play this as a set: -
I'll buy boots for Maggie,Maggie in the woods, and Santa Annas Retreat - always works a treat.

I have an inside out version - i.e. the B-part is the A-part and vice versa. Also, the B-part (the A-part of the version posted here) is an octave higher, up until the last two bars.

Does anyone know who wrote it? It sounds like a recent composition.

I play it upside down too. Actually there a quite a few polkas and slides that I like better with the high part first and then the minor low part second.

Corcomroe Abbey

In fact I'll post it here, in case it gets taken off, as it is pretty much a duplication. No idea where the name's from though.

weird that the A & B parts are swapped in the two versions...
The tune I know as Corcomroe Abbey is the variation of Boots for Maggie.
