A tune I learnt from Ber, an elderly fiddle player in the Carlow area. I think Ber is originally from Paddy O'Brien country down in Tipperary but has lived a good many years near Rossmore in Carlow. Rossmore would have been one of the very few coal mining areas in Ireland and it lies up on the edge of the Castlecomer plateau - also the location for the 'dancing boards'. Anyway, I think Ber came up with this tune on the way to Rossmore one day - says he has another to go with it, but can't remember how it went!
