The Wrecking Reel
This beautiful tune comes from the fiddle playing of Pat McManus on Hidden Fermanagh Vol.2. Strangely enough, it's not on Hidden Fermanagh tune book! So, there's absolutely no info available on it.
Flute players would find it easier to play in Edor like this:

Perhaps it's under copyright?
And they couldn't get permission to print it?
Lovely tune, though!!!!

The Wrecking Reel
The Wrecking Reel is from the Gunn MS of 1865. It was inadvertently missed from the book Hidden Fermanagh. Glad to see it in the tunes here.
I will shortly be putting up a website dedicated to the Gunn MS (the Gunn Book) with full index etc. I'll put it as a link on The Session.

Oh, and I have no information on this tune. Haven't found anything even similar anywhere else. Any suggestions welcome as to its derivation.

1865...
hmmm... I suppose it could be in the public domain, then!

Cheers, Sharon. I'm planning to transcribe a couple of more obscure Fermanagh tunes from Mick Hoy's fiddle playing, which are not on either of the CDs.

Good news.....
I'm off work sick at the moment, but the thought of a few more Mick Hoy tunes being posted here, and the news of that website has cheered me up no end. Thanks, folks - looking forward to both.
