The Mill Quay
Of all the tunes I've composed, this ranks among those of which I'm most proud.
The Mill Quay is a spot on the River Bann in Derrytagh South (aka "The Reckie"), where I used to go fishing with my dad when I was growing up. God knows why, because it was one of the least productive fishing spots within miles! But it was a peaceful enough sort of place and that's part of the pleasure of fishing, I suppose.
It's a big piece and took me a long time to tease into its eventual shape. I'd be interested to know what others think of it.
Slán.
