This tune comes from the Morgantown West Virginia area...
Worley Gardner was a big part of the trad music scene there 20-30 years ago and played hammered dulcimer-banjo and i remember hearing that he played this tune at square dances around the area. The A part is "irregular" and not an error. If I remember correctly he may have learned this from his father.
There is a festival in his honor every year http://www.gwmf.org/
I picked it up at a session somewhere around the region... one of those simple little tunes that has a bit of charm to it.
