They Just Keep Getting BetterI've enjoyed Alasdair Fraser since his first recording and I've seen him in person many times. He was great the first time I saw him and he just keeps getting better and better. He has teamed with quite a number of musicians over the years, but teaming up with Natalie Haas was a stroke of genius. They are two of the most talented musicians you'd ever want to see and as a duo they are stunning. I want more and more of them.
Close your eyes, tilt your head up and bob your headFor many of my Celtic music selections I have specific places where they play the best -- fitness center cardio workouts, crank-it-up singing in the car, hopping around the living room dancing, meditative slide into sleep. But this CD has become my soundtrack to joyful, graceful living. It goes with beer, but it's better with wine and chocolate. It can calm anxiety. It can give you energy. It will make you smile. It makes you want to bob your head around and enjoy sunshine on your face. Who would have thought that the cello could be so hot? And that cello and fiddle could be so well matched as in Fraser and Haas?
Fantastic!!Fantastic!! Best cd I have bought in a long time. Can't stop playing it! Well worth every penny.
Love itAs noted by previous reviewers the pairing of the cello with the fiddle is lovely. It has become a favorite in our house. I bought this CD a month ago and then just by chance was able to attend the Highland, Heath, and Holler concert - bringing together Irish, Scottish, and Appalachian fiddling. If Fraser and Haas (the Heather in the above combo) come to your area - go and see the real thing. You'll have a foot stompin' good time!
Award winnerThis is what it sounds like when you're at the top of your game.
Great sound engineering, arranging, and playing combine in this award winning ensemble of instrumental traditional Celtic tunes.
The energy is palpable, as if the cello and fiddle are speaking English with a UK accent.
