Sweet, sublime, and down to earth, tooThis is a fine recording of Kevin Burke alone with his fiddle. Many of these tunes will become your favorites and stick with you long after the cd is over. If you've seen Roan Inish, you've heard the Butterfly--but not played as exquisitely as this. Itzikel is a tune you can play for your friends who think "violin" music is more grown up than "fiddle" music. There are lots of traditional standards here, played with clarity and feeling. Another great Irish fiddler, transplanted in the Northwest U.S., Martin Hayes, produced this recording and joins Kevin on stage for a couple of tunes on the cd. A most satisfying blend of fun and emotion.
Kevin Burke gets better every time I hear himKevin Burke was the first to turn me on to Celtic music. Since the first time I heard him on "Celtic Fiddle Festival" to my latest purchase "In Concert", I can't get enough of him. This album is one of his best. It lets you hear Kevin Burke the way he is best heard - LIVE. If you haven't heard Kevin Burke yet, this is a very good album to get.
