Liz Carroll's bestThere are so many great recordings by Liz Carroll, but of them all this is my favorite. The tracks are a mix of traditional as well as original tunes. Although I am generally very biased towards traditional Irish tunes, I actually like the Liz Carroll originals best among the bunch. I found Helicopters/Crossing the Delaware to be exceptionally interesting, catchy and well done. Many of my traditional favorites are on this CD as well, including The Abbey Reel, Pigeon on the Gate and Out on the Road. This is a truly great collection that you will not soon, if ever, tire of listening to.
Always AwesomeLiz is a very talented musician.I listen to all her works.Tops in her field.
This is a must own!If you only own a few cd's this should be one of them if you like Irish music. Liz Carroll is the greatest Irish American born fiddler and composer of tunes ever and this is a great CD for you to start with. It doesn't get any better!
Amazing! This lives in my CD player. It would be a great honor to one day be able to play as good as she does. My favorite is the G Reel for it's incredible lilting, flowing grace. This is real Irish fiddling!
One of Celtic music's finest contemporary fiddlers.I heard Liz Carroll perform a tune the first evening of Port Townsend Washington's annunal Old Time Fiddle Festival in 1998. After picking my jaw up off the floor I decided I had to sit in on her classes over the next week. This woman is an amazing player and a darn nice person. If you want to own just one of her CDs, this is probably the one to get. It's just Liz with the incomparably clean and steady accompaniment of Daith Sproule on guitar.
