5 stars THUMBS UP

B Melon's Classic Masters is what the musicians wanted as far as recording and album art. I am thankful to have purchased the album as part of my repertoire. RIP Shannon.
As a drummer I appreciate the grooves laid down by Glen and the strings layered a rather hypnotic, yet at times, heavy groove to keep the music moving along. Thank the boys in the band for recording their music for now it is forever. SOLID Glenn Portland, OREGON.

3 stars Classic - YES....The best available - NO

Don't buy this album. Buy "The Best of Blind Melon" (released a couple of years after this) and you'll get all these songs and the essential "I wonder" "Time" and "St Andrew's Fall" as extra tracks.
Also included is the rare studio track "Three is a magic number" and even 2 live bonus tracks.
As if that isn't enough... "The Best of Blind Melon" also has an additional "No rain (ripped away version)" which you'll instantly either love or hate.

5 stars Amazing

This album is amazing in fact it is simply mind-blowing. My personal favorite on this album would have to be Mouthfull of Cavities but I can't really think of one song on this album that i don't like. I don't think their are many people out there willing to argue with me about this album. This is probobly my favorite album in the history of music. This is a must have for any Blind Melon fan or for anyone that is new to Blind Melon.

5 stars If You Are Tired of Top 40 [junk], Try This...

Blind Melon produced some of the most innovative and thought provoking music of the early 90's and this is a great collection. Shannon Hoon's voice has the magical ability to transmit complex emotions and it is such a shame that he is no longer with us. Blind Melon holds up well with the passage of time and this is a terrific album

4 stars Heartening, but falls short

I find it very heartening that a new volume of Blind Melon's songs would be released. A volume of remastered songs at that. This album features some of the best Blind Melon songs, and indeed if you listen carefully with the right equipment, one can indeed hear a little improvement in sound quality. All that said, however, I find this album offers little new for a fan already familiar with the majority of their work. As a primer for a new fan, I think it would serve very well to introduce one to some of the musical accomplishments of arguably one of the most talented musical groups of the indie rock movement of the early '90s, Blind Melon.
