New Session

A new session has started on Tuesday nights in Tommy Flynn's in Hammersmith. This is a big pub with good acoustics; the landlord, Anthony, is a gentleman.

Music starts around 9 o'clock and is led by the great London banjo player Brian Kelly.
All musicians and singers(!) are welcome. See you there.

Nice session, 13/04/05

We had a good few tunes after the footie on Tuesday night. Thanks to Bernard, Kerry and Jane for bringing the fiddles and lifting the music! Hope to see you folks again next week

Fantastic session 19/04/05

I went down for the first time last night and it was a cracker- there were some wonderful players there including a band from Dublin whose name escapes me . Brian Kelly is a great player - it was good to hear him.( That Conan feller's pretty tasty on the accordian too )

Cheque's in the post for that comment Martin!

Thanks for coming along, it was great! 15 or so musicians, among whom were counted crap banjo player Ian McGirr and the members of Gráda, who are excellent! I'm going to hear them tonight in Berkhamsted civic centre, 8.00. Should be a class gig if last night is anything to go by.

By the way, I'm only joking about Ian. He's a deadly player, and he knows I'm only acting the maggot..

Sounds like a great session - pass a hug to Ian for me and say hi to the Grada lads as well. Oh and Conan - Save me a seat!

Football

Due to the match tonight (Chelsea V Liverpool, Champions League Semi Final), the sesson will probably not start until 9.30 tonight. Hope to see all you West London heads again.

Cheers!

Session cancelled

Yes Nick; unfortunately I have to report that this session has been cancelled until further notice.

Thanks to all those people who showed up - we had some good tunes.

It seems the punters were much more interested in football...

All the best

Return of Hammersmith Tommmy Flynn's

I was passing this pub during the week, & there's a sign in the window advertising a traditional session this and every Sunday from 6-8 p.m. featuring Colette & Friends.

Call First

I just phoned them, and the session is on SATURDAY now. Always best to phone first.

No sessions as of 1st of September 2007

I visited the pub at 73 Dalling Road about the 1st of September. It had then been renamed, Flanagan's, I think, and according to the bartender they did not have traditional sessions, although there were nights with live music of some sort. This could possibly have changed between then and now (21st of October).
At several (old?) sites on the internet the pub on 73 Dalling Road is called The Prince of Wales, so it must change identity quite often.
