There is a weekly session every Sunday from approx 1.30-5.30. Different host musicians each week leads to a varied session. Anyone is welcome to come and join in.
Blimey - just checked on a map. You have a heck of a journey to get from Ardrishaig to Dunoon. AA Routeplanner also had you driving(!) on an "unclassified road" from Tarbert to Portavadie. Cars can do some amazing things these days but I doubt they are ready to put CalMac out of business just yet
I think the Saracen is still there although I do not know the pubs in Dunoon that well. The Lorne is on Argyll Street on the road out to Sandbank and Holy Loch at the edge of the town cente. I could say "next to the traffic lights" or "opposite the library" but I am not sure they would really help your directioning. It is just up from the cinema if that is any help!
Yip, it's a bit of a drive, but if you live in Mid Argyll, and there's not that much going on re sessions - travel is sometimes a necessity! It takes about 1 1/4 hours from Ardrishaig to Dunoon, via Inverary & Strachur - (not via amphibious car!). Out of interest, are there any Canned Haggi (is that the plural of haggis?) who attend your session?
Incidently, there have been a few Thursday night sessions in the back room of the "Comm" in Lochgilphead recently (after a Gaelic conversational circle) - if they get a bit more regular, I'll post the session on this site.

I believe Canned Haggis hosted one of the sessions once. I have just moved back to Dunoon and including previous visits have only been 2-3 times myself. The session is suffering a bit from local interest (to be precise the only non-hosts there so far have been myself and a local percussionist). It would be good if the guys from the band would join in because they are decent musicians. Susan (flute and whistle) is in my whistle class in Glasgow and shows us all up - I must practice more!!

Indeed it has. Shame really. They were fun whilst they lasted but it was always musicians parachuted in from Glasgow/Edinburgh with a couple of locals joining in.

I remember Dunnon from the 70s and Holy Loch- where is it in relation to "The Saracen", if its stil there.
