This session used to be on the database but has managed to disappear. This is a terrific and energetic session at one of the friendliest pubs in New York, located in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Say hi to Brian the bartender, who also maintains the excellent site www.nyireland.com, listing trad sessions and players in the area.
The session on Saturday runs from 9 to 1 and is hosted by a rotating cast, including Brian Conway, Bernie Fee, John Redmond, John Nolan, Donie Ryan, and others. The Sunday session starts at 7 and usually features a rotation of Isaac Alderson, Johnny Cuomo, Bernie Fee, et al.
Like most other NYC sessions, this one is amplified, but don't let that scare you off; the tunes are too good to pass up.
Nice place. Really cozy atmosphere. Irish pub hopped around NYC yesterday and this was the one where I ended up staying most of the night. Can only imagine how nice it must be when it's not full of the Saint Paddy's crowd

It usually seems more like a concert than a session.

Is it an open session? Or is everyone there paid to play?
