Friendly session. Pat Malloy is one of the leaders and some of his pupils often attend. Other beginners need to make themselves known.
The session can get around 20 experienced musicians attending, so it is a good session to just listen to if you want.

Regards to Pat

Delighted to hear Pat Molloy is playing at your session - he must be over 80 years young by now; a great fiddle and melodeon player and I only found out recently that he's composed some fine tunes also.

Searching for a Session

Whoever you were (You were taken off the "Comments" section before I could post a reply) this session at the Antelope has to be first rate because Pat Molloy is a great traditional player with an unlimited repertoire.

I believe there's another good session venue at a pub called the Spotted Dog in Birmingham which even has a jig named after it - this is a lovely tune composed by fiddler John McEvoy and can be found on the session site.

Hi to Pat!

I hope he is well.... He used to teach me over 15 years ago, we would start a lesson at his house on Saturday afternoon and end in some pub on Sunday night!! Thanks to Enda and Joe! Are these sessions still going?

Went on Dec 2, 2006 and the pub was closed??

Hi...

Anyone know if this session moved, or is defunct?

NO LONGER ACTIVE

This session stopped over a year ago (2005 or 6) when the pub closed for a while, and Pat moved house. It is no longer active.
