Usually a mixture of Irish, English and Scots tunes with the odd bit of bluegrass to keep you on your toes at this thursday night session. It takes place every Thursday from about 8pm onwards.
True, the Thursday session is smaller. Although there is often a substantial English content, the balance between English and Irish on any given night depends on who is there. So if you are in St Albans on a Thursday night, please come and you will be welcome.
The Second Sundays have guests, but a session format rather than floor spots, but owing to low attendance, the last one will be on September 14 with Hez and Herz.

Is this still running?
I only ask because I've just moved to Potters bar from London.

Still running, but now predominantly English
Thursday night sessions are</> still running, but are now much smaller and predominantly English.
The second Sunday folk session was an additional event, which I have only recently been informed will no longer be continuing.
Most of the players of Irish/bluegrass have now moved to the White Lion Session on Wednesday evenings.
The White Lion session doesn't look, smell or feel like a London session, but people have been know to enjoy themselves never-the-less.
