I was told by the staff that the session started at 3pm but it was already in full swing when I arrived at 3pm. It is hosted by Mick Mulvey and the standard of music is high with quite a few youngsters. The pub is a large Victorian pub recently refurbished.
Quite apart from the holder of the title, the session has now gone. Another victim of the regulars' preference for TV sports.
The monthly sessions at the Chevy Chase in Stratford seem to be run by Goretti on a regular basis now on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately PJ gives us little notice of these so I'm not sure how it can build up a regular following. This Sunday gone Goretti had Joe O'Connor from Tyrone and here daughter Carlene turned up along with just a couple of people from the Thursday night sessions.
