Sir Ben's Thursday evening session is billed as a "Celtic" session, which roughly means lots of tunes, but not a lot of Irish (or Scottish or the generic Celtic) unless you bring it yourself. Definitely an open session where A LOT of old-time/bluegrass music gets played, each tune being played MANY (7 or more!) times through, making a good session to learn tunes. Very few tunes get strung together in a set.
If you're willing to keep an open mind and are willing to lead on Irish tunes it can make for a fun evening.
